[Vwpickups] Lost Battery light, seat belt light, glow plug light in dash 1982 diesel

Thanks to all for your thoughts. I awoke this morn and refreshed the batteries in my flashlight, got on my knees and checked every fuse. I was able to see that besides the 4 amp fuse for the instrument cluster, I also burned out the 5 amp fuse for the radio. How this relates to the lights that I lost, I have no idea.....But at least the lights function again. Went to local Autozone and could not find any 4 amp replacement fuses. I found 3 amp and 5 amp, but no 4 amp.

There is a voltage regulator in these instrument clusters, maybe it  
got spiked, don't know if it specifically applies. IIRC Bentley  
mentions it. It is the little box with 3 legs soldered to the board.  
A bit short on time here right now to get out the wiring diagrams and  
trace it out. Having to replace my C152 due to a hailstorm totaling  
it, and I have a hot prospect I am preparing to fly out to (near)  
Phoenix to check out and fly it back to Ft.Worth if it passes muster.
